Crete is hilly, hot in summer and absolutely beautiful by bike. With an e-bike, even the climbs to mountain villages become a pleasure.
Where to rent
You find bike and e-bike rentals in Chania, Rethymno, Heraklion, Agios Nikolaos and most big resorts. Many deliver to your hotel and include a helmet, lock and repair kit. For longer tours, ask for a route map or a GPS track.
Best time to ride
Spring and autumn are perfect. In July and August start early in the morning and finish before noon. Always carry plenty of water, shops can be far apart in the mountains.
