Σχετικά

The sandy cove on Gramvousa island, below a Venetian fortress and next to a shipwreck.

Imeri Gramvousa is an uninhabited island near Balos and a protected wildlife area. Boats stop at its western cove with sand and clear water, below the Venetian fortress on the hill and close to an old rusty shipwreck.

In the 19th century the island was a pirate base during the Greek War of Independence. The beach is sandy with clear water. Climbing to the fortress takes about 20 minutes and rewards you with wonderful views over Balos.

Kissamos is the wild north-west corner of Crete. The landscape is rugged and dry near the coast and green in the hills, with chestnut villages, olive groves and vineyards. Beaches here are among the most beautiful on the island: Balos, Falasarna and the coves of Gramvousa, reached by boat from Kissamos harbour. The town itself is a relaxed place with Roman mosaics in its museum and tavernas by the sea. The sunsets on the west coast are unforgettable.

Γύρω από Κίσσαμος

The west of Crete is the island at its most dramatic. Chania has the most beautiful Venetian old town on Crete, wrapped around a harbour with a lighthouse and a domed mosque. In the evening the narrow lanes of Splantzia and the old Jewish quarter fill up with tavernas and small bars. Περισσότερα για Χανιά
