Good to know before you rent

Two wheels are a great way to get around beach resorts, old towns and the coast roads. For longer trips over the mountains, a car is often more comfortable and safer.

• Scooters and motorbikes. A small scooter is easy for short distances in and around your resort. For the mountain roads choose more power, and take your time on the bends.
• Quads and buggies. Fun on dirt tracks and short trips, but slow and tiring on long main roads. Check where you are allowed to ride with the rental company.
• Your licence. Bring your driving licence and ask the rental company which licence category you need for the vehicle you choose.
• Helmet and insurance. Wearing a helmet is required by law in Greece. Check what the insurance covers before you ride off.
