Tertsa is a tiny village in a green valley that runs down to the Libyan Sea, between Arvi and Psari Forada. The coast is a long stretch of grey sand and pebbles with two small beaches, shaded by big tamarisk trees and very quiet even in August.

In the south, the wide Messara plain holds the palace of Phaistos, the Roman ruins of Gortyna and the famous caves above the bay of Matala. More about Heraklion
