Amazonas Park is a small zoo near Neapoli, about 15 km from Agios Nikolaos. It has domestic and exotic animals, from goats and donkeys to monkeys and parrots.

The coast has many small beaches and calm bays, and the town is lively in the evening with cafes and restaurants around the lake. Boats leave for Spinalonga and trips around the bay.
