A wild, quiet beach near Lentas that naturists have loved for decades.

Diskos (also Dytikos) lies just west of Lentas and is known as one of the main naturist beaches on Crete. It is sandy, unorganised and quiet, with tamarisks for shade and very clear blue water. People often camp here for days in summer.

The beach is long, sandy and unorganised, with tamarisks for shade and a small taverna nearby. The water is clear, and the dramatic coastline of the Asterousia makes a beautiful backdrop. Bring water and snacks, and respect the naturist character of the beach.

Gortyna lies in the heart of the Messara, around the ruins of ancient Gortyn, the Roman capital of Crete. Agioi Deka is the main village, and the area stretches south to the Asterousia mountains and the remote coast of Lentas and Kali Limenes. The landscape is a mix of olive groves, small villages and wild mountains. The south coast here is one of the warmest and driest places in Crete, with quiet beaches and tavernas serving fresh fish.
