Taxis, car rental, ferries & buses
Crete is big, about 260 km from end to end, and public transport covers the main towns but not the remote beaches. Most visitors rent a car for at least part of their stay; taxis and pre-booked transfers are the easy option from the airports, and KTEL buses connect the main towns cheaply.
