Σχετικά

A string of small sandy beaches with lifeguards and shallow, light blue water.

Kokkini Hani is a seaside village east of Heraklion where the coast is split into several small sandy beaches. They are well organised with sunbeds and lifeguards, and the water is light blue and not too deep. The name comes from an old inn (hani) that used to stand here.

Kokkini Hani, meaning "red inn", takes its name from an old inn that stood on the road east of Heraklion. Today it's a seaside village with several small sandy beaches between rocky stretches, all of them easy to reach from the old national road.

The beaches are organised and fairly sheltered, with clear light blue water that's good for kids. Cretaquarium, one of the largest aquariums in the Mediterranean, is just a short walk away in Gournes, which makes this a handy area for families. The Minoan villa of Nirou Chani, with its big ceremonial store rooms, is also right beside the road.

Heraklion is the heart of Minoan Crete and the island’s busiest region. Knossos and the Heraklion Archaeological Museum are the two places almost everyone visits, and they work well together on one day. In the south, the wide Messara plain holds the palace of Phaistos, the Roman ruins of Gortyna and the famous caves above the bay of Matala. Περισσότερα για Ηράκλειο
