Σχετικά

A long, sheltered sandy beach between two capes on the far south east of Heraklion.

Psari Forada is a sleepy little village above a long sandy beach that is protected by a cape on each side. The beach is not really organised, though there are a few watersports in summer, and you find fish tavernas and rooms in the village. Myrtos, just across the border in Lasithi, is the nearest resort.

Psari Forada is a small seaside village on the far south-east coast of Heraklion, close to the border with Lasithi. It was founded by people from the mountain village of Kalamio, who came down to fish and look after their crops and eventually settled here.

The beach is long, sandy and protected by capes on both sides, so the sea is often calm. There are a few tavernas and rooms but no big hotels, and the atmosphere is very quiet. Combine it with the neighbouring beach of Sidonia, or with Tertsa and Arvi a little further west.

Heraklion is the heart of Minoan Crete and the island’s busiest region. Knossos and the Heraklion Archaeological Museum are the two places almost everyone visits, and they work well together on one day. In the south, the wide Messara plain holds the palace of Phaistos, the Roman ruins of Gortyna and the famous caves above the bay of Matala. Περισσότερα για Ηράκλειο
